About Us

Believe it or not...

There are a lot of benefits to growing up poor... Not only are you more likely to be grateful for the "little things" in life, but you learn a lot about doing things yourself.
During my wonder years, my mother was a huge advocate for making her own clothes, as well as me and my sister's. There was never a shortage of fabrics, needles n’ pins, and sewing machines in the house, and once I hit my early teens, my mom taught me how to sew.
Around the same time, I was also newly introduced to another life long friend: Punk Rock music. And much to Mom's dismay, I was more inclined to make my own clothes inspired by this music instead of reproducing the sweet little dresses she would’ve much preferred me wearing...
Nonetheless, when I’d ask her how to properly sew on a buncha extra zippers onto the knees of my pants she was always so excited to teach me!

The purpose of what you've read isn't necessarily to talk about where I personally come from, but to point out the beautiful lesson my mother taught me...

It had nothing to do with looping string into our ghetto sewing machine.
It had everything to do with being self-created and fearless of being YOURSELF.

So!
The purpose of me creating this clothing line is simply to practice and share what Mom taught me:

Express yourself through your art - whether it’s your drawings in a sketchpad, tattoos on your skin, the shade of your lipstick, or the clothes that you wear.

KVD,
